On December 21, 2010 MKC had another successful meeting with an FAA representative to again negotiate and extend the FAA Waiver, which basically allows kite surfing on Maui’s North Shore. Most of The Maui Kitesurfing Community’s board members were present to assist and answer questions from attending fellow kite surfers, Life Guards, Maui County Representatives and other ocean recreationalists.

The FAA representative decided that it was best to create an new map that only illustrates the No Kitesurfing Zone at the end of the Kahului Airport runway and to re-write the FAA Waiver to only included rules that affected the FAA.
